SGG2009 Safeguarding for Governors
Postponed until later in the year
Safeguarding: the Governors' role
The session is designed to provide governors with assigned safeguarding responsibilities with the knowledge and skills to undertake their role.
The session will explain the legal context for safeguarding in schools and through discussion and activities will help delegates to develop their awareness of whole school safeguarding issues and the responsibilities of governing boards in relation to safeguarding.
The workshop will provide a role description for safeguarding lead governors, and tools to enable them to undertake their compliance and monitoring roles.
The session is interactive and uses real case scenarios to develop understanding.
Our training will be facilitated by one of our NLGs (National Leader of Governance) - Trevor Kendrick. You can read more about Trevor here: https://www.5wellstsa.org.uk/index.php/school-to-school/national-leaders-of-governance/17-trevor-kendrick
